Otaru Canal 　5　 Classical Buildings
There are 95 buildings registered as a historical monument. That means a　lot of money was invested into Hokkaido in ealy days.

Otaru branch office of the Bank of Japan
　it was constructed in 1912. Otaru was the economical center at that time. Tatsumi Kingo and Nagano Uheiji designed the building. They also designed the Old Tokyo Station.。

Interior was also splended. There are many Owl statue on the upper wall. This building is now used as a museum.

It is a hotel at present.
